Foster A Dog or Cat

Fostering allows rescue dogs and cats to live outside of a kennel and experience being part of a family as they await adoption. Help a dog or cats find their fur-ever home!

Change A Life

At Palmas Animal Welfare the reality is we often have more dogs and cats than foster homes and they end up being kenneled as they wait to find their Forever Home. The more foster families we have the more dogs and cats we can save.

As a foster parent, your goal is to prepare your foster for their Forever Home. This could involve teaching your dog basic commands, leash training, potty training, providing patience and love, and giving your foster dog or cat a safe home.

A dog or cat’s time in a foster home can range from a few days to several months. Every rescue is different, so every foster experience will be different. We are able to give a better estimate for your specific foster dog or cat before you take them home.

Doggy Day Out

Foster a dog for an hour or the entire day! Doggy Day Out is a short-term foster program where the public can take dogs from PAWS on special day outings.

A Doggy Day Out can include a hike, a walk on the beach, or a drive to a pet store for some goodies. These field trips help rescue dogs socialize, burn off energy and get more exposure to potential adopters.

Doggy Day Out requires minimal training commitments for participants.
